Early Morning Walk

Date: Friday, 3 June 2011
Area: High Coniscliffe, County Durham

I can't believe it's been two months since I've updated the journal. I know that getting everything ready for the exhibition before going away had taken up lots of my time. But I didn't think it was that much, that I'd completely neglected the journal? Well I'm determined now to get out with the camera a couple of times a week, more if I can get away with it. So there should be lot more updates in here in the coming weeks and months.

I think sun rise is by far the best time of day to go for a walk with the camera. I just wished that it wasn't at such a unsociable time at this time of the year. For some reason this morning I was wide awake at 4 am. so I thought I take Cleo for an early morning walk around the fields at the back of the village. The sun had already risen by the time we had got ready and walked to the fields. There was still a thin layer of mist hanging over the fields, but that was quickly lifting as the sun warmed the air. It was really peaceful and quite, I even managed to spot a Barn Owl and a Heron as I walked past the old mill pond. Pity I didn't have the Sony with telephoto lens on! Here's a selection of the photos from the walk, the colours were really great this morning.
