Today's walk was in Swaledale, amongst the old lead mine working of Gunnerside Gill. It's a walk I've done many times before, but I was surprised to find that it had been two years since I last did this walk. Our last time doing the same walk was on a very cold and icy day in January 2009 The weather for today's visit was much nicer, almost 'Spring' like when you were out of the cold northerly breeze. Regardless of the time of year or weather, a walk along the gill is always a delight. Every time I go I always find something new that I've not seen before, in among the old mining ruins. However, one of the things that I spotted on today's walk was a bit more of a surprise!
