I was over in the Lakes early today for a meeting, so I decided to fit a walk in after it. I needed to get some photos Ullswater for a project I'm doing, and Wainwright reckoned that some of the best views of it are form Swineside Knott. I've only ever been on there once before, on one of my training walks before I went out to Nepal in 2009. To be honest I wasn't too bothered about the views that day, I was more intent in getting the miles covered. So today the going was much more sedate, with 'photographs' taking priority. I have to agree with AW, the views of Ullswater as you follow the wall over looking Glencoyne Park are truly stunning. My timing wasn't brilliant as the sun was almost directly in my face, but slow walking and a lazy lunch stop on Swineside Knott helped!
