We had planned to do a walk on Farleton Fell today with some friends. However, the on going saga with the car meant I had to sort a couple of things out. Which meant that we wouldn't get over to join them in time. So not wanting to miss a walk altogether we ended up driving over to the northern slopes of Wild Boar Fell for a wander across Fell End Clouds. It's a lovely short walk over the limestone pavements, and on a clear day the views are excellent. Sadly today the weather didn't quite clear as per the forecast, so most of the walk was done in mist.
There are several parking spots along the 'The Street' to start the walk from
The first part of the walk involves a short walk along the road
Somewhere up there in the mist are the limestone pavements of Fell End Clouds
An old lime kiln, this marks the point where we left the road and headed across the moorland
Cold Keld farm, just about visible through the mist
Sheena and Tim waiting for me to finish taking photos
Navigation was easy, just follow the wall
Until you get to where to meet the stream
The mist lifted every now and there was the occasional burst of sun!
From the corner of the wall the next target was this lone tree. On a clear day you can just make of the top of it from the wall!
Cheeky Tim Dawg!

This is what the view should look like on a clear day, taken on our previous visit in June 2010

What's this blue sky?
At last the mist lifted to give us a bit more of a view

There were lots of ponies on the fells today

Typical just as we were getting to the end of the walk it looked like the weather was improving
I was tempted to head back up to get some more photos, but decided to save it for another day
Almost back at the car
