The main purpose of this walk was to get a couple of decent photo's of Slater's Bridge in the Little Langdale valley. The weather was reasonably kind to us on this visit, despite the cold biting strong westerly that was blowing along the valley, there were plenty of sunny patches to give some great shots of the bridge. Though I have to admit to having to hang around for ages to get the sun roughly where I wanted it. If you want to find out a bit more about some of the photo's that I took while we were there check out our blog @ My Mountain page where I've added a couple of posts about the one's I took at Slater's Bridge and also in the stunning Cathedral Cave.
Elterwater village was pretty quite at the start of the walk, bet it's not like this when we get back?
Heading along the bridleway towards Little Langdale, Tim leading the way as usual
Our first glimpse of Wetherlam, just out of the cloud, with Great Carrs in the murk to the right
The lovely Little Langdale valley, an unspoilt corner of Lakeland?

One of the shots I wanted of Slater's Bridge
The amazing Cathedral Cave
It's huge inside, that second white hand print on the rocks is about 6 feet off the ground
It's not the easiest place to photograph with it been a cave!
This is the same shot at the one above, but I've processed it more to bring out the detail
Back outside the cave, time to head to Blea Tarn for lunch
Our route would take us past the white house on the left of the photo, then through the 'V' in the middle
Lingmoor Fell with Little Langdale Tarn to the right
As we approached Bridge End the Langdale Pikes came into view
Bridge End Farm, a National Trust property
Fell Foot Farm, with Castle Howe directly behind, and Pike O'Blisco behind that
Looking back towards Little Langdale Tarn across Blea Moss

Almost at Blea Tarn, it's just behind the tree's, but we had lunch beside Bleamoss Beck first
The Langdale Pikes (l) with Side Pike (c) over a wind swept Blea Tarn
