Hury Reservoir from the car parking area at the south end of the end, from where we started today's walk
Heading along the lane towards West Briscoe farm
Our first view of Goldsborough, its the one on the left. The one, in the distance, on the right is called Shacklesborough.
As we gained a bit of height Hury Reservoir came into view, our return route would be along the far side of it
This area is definitely sheep country ...
This young lamb was quite happy to make friends with Tim!
Looking down into How Beck, we walked alongside this for a mile or so
Until we reached this old sheepfold where we crossed onto the other side
A view of Goldsborough as we climbed back up from crossing the beck
Warning notices at the Battle Hill firing ranges, our route only went around the edge of the range
A view of Goldsborough from where we joined the Pennine Way
Hury Reservoir from the summit of Goldsborough
Looking west from the summit across the flat Cotherstone moor
The weathered crags on the south side of Goldsborough
Blackton (right) and Baldersdale (far left) reservoirs from the Pennine Way, as we descended down to the road
The 'By Wash' which runs the full length of Hury Reservoir, which allows the overflow from the upper reservoirs to bypass it
The small dam between Blackton and Hury, which we crossed to reached the north shore path
Looking along 'Hury' towards the dam
A view back towards Goldsborough
Crossing the dam back to the car
Finally crossing back over the 'By Wash' where it passes Hury dam
