Surrender Bridge is located on the moors between Low Row in Swaledale and Langthwaite in Arkengarthdale
Looking across at the remains of the Surrender Bridge smelt mill as we left the small parking area to start the walk
The Swaledale moors where looking lovely with all the heather in full bloom
Hmmm, it looked as if we were going to lose the sun though, as just after we set off a big bank of cloud drifted in from the west
Sunshine on the distant Fremington Edge, with Calver Hill on the right
The heather was really lovely and it's scent was almost over powering at times
Sheena and Tim heading along the track to the distant summit of Great Pinseat
The area around the summit has been heavily mined for lead in the past, there are spoil heaps everywhere
Looking south from Great Pinseat, you can just about make out Ingleborough in the far distance?
Sheena checking out the entrances to some old mine workings
Level House Bridge, this is where we joined the C2C footpath which we would follow back to Surrender Bridge
The rocky outcrops of Crag Willas
An odd looking 'zebra stripped' helicopter!
Heading along Hard Level Gil towards the old mine workings at Old Gang
The remains of the old furnace house
