Some friends of ours, Steve and Lorraine, who we know through the Online Fellwalking Club, where staying in Teesdale for a few days. We had arranged to meet them for walk on Sunday. This was their first visit to the area, so what better way to start it off, than with a walk along the river from Low Force to High Force. This was our second visit in two weeks, but we didn't mind, it's a great place and we never tire of walking there. It also meant that I had another excuse to take some more waterfall shots!
Back at Low Force again, at least there aren't any canoeists today!
A close up shot of the upper falls
Well I couldn't resist one slow shutter speed shot could I?
To get onto the south side of the river to walk up to High Force we needed to cross the Wynch Bridge
Low Force falls from the Wynch Bridge
The local rescue team were out training today, rather them than me, that water would be freezing!
The upper falls again, but this time from the south side of the river
High Force, as lovely as ever, not much water coming over today though
A wider angle shot, there is still a some snow lying on Noon Hill in the background
Steve, Lorraine, Sheena and Tim dog posing for a shot, with High Force in the background
One looking down from the top of High Force
Not one of the better views in Teesdale, the quarry a few hundred yards upstream of High Force
We'd come up this way to visit Bleabeck Force
