My route was going to go to the left of the waterfalls in Sourmilk Gill, you can just make out the path beside the fall

The lovely Easedale Tarn, my route today would take me right round the shore of it

The walk up to the tarn from Grasmere is very popular, if you want to have the place to yourself, best visit either early or late to avoid the crowds. I'd just about managed to get up there before too many others today

By the time I'd walked round to the small stream that runs into the tarn the cloud had eventually lifted of the summit of Fairfield
