We didn't have great amount of spare time today, as we seemed to have loads of jobs to do. However, we still wanted to take Tim out for a walk somewhere, so we picked on Reeth in Swaledale. We hadn't been there for a walk for about a year, hard to believe buts it been that long. We repeated one of previous walks, which followed the south bank of the River Swale west along the valley until we joined the quiet country lane near to Stubbins Farm. We then walked back along the road, a bit boring, but some great views up and down the dale, to village of Grinton. It was then a simple walk back over the fields to Reeth, where we had a delicious lunch at The Black Bull.

We started the walk on the village green, to get down to the river we headed left past the National Park Centre

I'd never really noticed these 'terraces' in the fields before, not sure if they are natural or man made?
