I've really busy over the last week, and not had any spare time for what I would call a proper walk. I did manage to get out a for a number of shortish strolls to complete some photo assignments I had. The first was on Monday 6th September when I took myself off for a wander along the very windswept beach at Redcar. I wanted to try and get some very simple but very striking shots, so I thought the beach would be a good place to head?
My next trip out was to Upper Swaledale on Thursday 9th September, it actually turned out into two walks rather than one. On my way up the valley I decided to stop off at the village of Muker to see if I could get some nice shots of the field barns. The weather wasn't been kind to me, as it was really overcast and grey, not great. But as it turned out I ended up with a couple of really great moody shots that have made great black and white shots.
After the stop Muker. my next visit was to Keld and the main purpose of my visit to Swaledale, to check out some of the lovely waterfalls that are close to the village. I had several on my list to visit, but some of them didn't turn out to as easy to get to and photograph as I'd planned, so they will need a re-visit. I did get to three of the falls, the first Wain Wath Force about a mile west of Keld, the second, East Gill Force which is just a few minutes walk from the village on the Pennine Way. The last set was Kidson Force which is about a mile downstream of East Gill Force.
My last trip out of the week was on Sunday, when we took Tim for a run out in Hamsterley Forest, which is quite local to us, about 20 minutes drive. The tree's are just starting to develop their lovely golden autumn colours, I can definitely see another, doggie walk coming on over the next few weeks!
