Cottages at Low Tilberthwaite at the start of the walk
We decided to do our planned walk in reverse, not much chance of getting the photo I wanted with all the low cloud and mist!
High Tilberthwaite farm
Some nice green fields as we walked through the valley towards Cathedral Cave, our first calling point of the day
The whole area is riddled with old quarries, be careful if you go exploring and heed the warning signs!
Hazel nuts, not quite ready yet, maybe another few weeks?
When we reached the river we turned left along the lane to reach the cave
The cloud was starting to lift a bit by the time we reached the entrance to Cathedral Cave
It's an amazing place, well worth spending time to explore
It's not the easiest place to photographs, so take a tripod if you want some nice shots
Our next target was the delightful Slaters Bridge
It made a perfect lunch stop for us today
Low Hall Garth, the sign on the door says it belongs to the "Yorkshire Rambling Club"
Little Langdale Tarn with Lingmoor Fell behind
Sheena and Tim waiting for me to finish taking my photos
Waterfalls in Greenburn Beck
Looking back into the Greenburn valley as we started the climb back over to Tilberthwaite
Looking across the valley at Pike O'Blisco, is that a patch of sunlight I can see?
Right on cue the low cloud that had shrouded the fells all day started to clear
So I managed to get this shot of the Langdale Pikes that I wanted
Tim sitting in the shade of the larch trees while I took my photos
Wetherlam from Hawk Rigg
More waterfalls, these are in Tilberthwaite Gill
Heading back down to the car along the old mining track
It had turned into a totally different day from when we'd left in the morning!
