I'd been feeling really good on Wednesday, not too many problems with my back/ulcer. So I decided to give Tim a run along the river, on what has to be his favourite dog walk. It was lovely and sunny when we set off, but half way round we were caught out in a really heavy snow shower. I was wearing my goose down jacket that wasn't waterproof and really didn't want it getting wet, but luckily we managed to keep out of the worst of it as we were in the woods. It was hard to believe that we've had snow lying on the ground for nearly three weeks, and a lot of those days the temperature has hardly got above freezing. We found that the river has started to freeze over were the current isn't so strong, but I didn't let Tim on it, it didn't look strong enough.
It was a true winter wonderland as we headed down across the fields towards the river
This is Tim's 'patch' he knows all the smells and sounds along the walk, he's always really alert to the slightest noise!
The approaching snow shower ...
Tim was oblivious to the fact, he was too busy hunting out moles!
We just made into the woods along the river before it caught us
I was surprised to see the big sheets if ice forming along the edge of the river
This is one of my usual fishing spots, the reeds mark the edge of the river normally. If the weather stays like this the river will be completely frozen over in a couple of days ... but I won't be trying the ice out!
Tim decided that I was taking too long with the photo's so he decided to have a lie down in the snow
In fact he almost went to sleep!
Now this was a first for me, skiers along the river!!!!!
This could be one of this years Christmas card photos?
Seeing the church means we are almost back home
One last shot of the river before we headed back up to the village
