Blue sky, sunshine and lovely autumn colours at Inverdruie
Heading out into the forest
with Tim leading the way as usual
Lochan Mor
Lochan Mor
I just loved the twisted branches and bark on this old pine tree
The autumn colours were pretty spectacular too!
More golden tree's, these ones were Silver Birch
A perfect spot for a cottage in the woods?
Golden Larches on the way to Loch an Eilein
The visitor centre at Loch an Eilein, which was closed!
Loch an Eilein with the snow covered Cairngorm in the distance
The ruins of the castle on the small island in the loch
Today we decided to extend our usual route by including the loop around Loch Gamhna
We almost regretted this decision as it was extremely boggy in places
Loch Gamhna
Twisted pines beside the loch
More strangely shaped tree's!
Back on the main path around Loch an Eilein
Giant pine tree's
After walking around the loch we headed west through the forest
Tim took a dip in every stream that he found
The first of the winter's snow on the distant mountain tops
Looking south towards Glen Enich
Left towards Loch Morlich!
The other path headed into the remote Glen Enich
Lochan Deo with Cairngorm in the distance
Another view of Lochan Deo
The walking for most of the walk was on really good tracks like this one
The Cairngorm Club Footbridge, we turned round here and headed back to Inverdruie
One of gates through the deer fences
Heading back through the forest
Not too many views ,just tree's!
The main paths through the forest seemed to be well signposted
A new path has been built since out last visit which saves the last mile or so of road walking
A lovely building for the MRT cntre
Finally back in Inverdruie
