The route map of our walk
Looking back down towards the car park as I head off up Tom Gill towards Tarn Hows
This is the first of the waterfalls that you come to in Tom Gill. The sun was shining directly down the falls so it was tricky to get a decent photo, but I think I just about managed it
This one is of the same sets of waterfalls but taken from the side
This is the 'main' waterfall in the gill, its about 20 feet high, and just a delight to photograph!
Just above the 'main' falls is this set of falls
Again not a very easy shot with the sun coming directly towards the lens
When I eventually reach the top of Tom Gill, and saw the lake at Tarn Hows, I was treated to views like this
It was just about as prefect as it gets, I ended up taking over a 150 photo's as I walked around the lake
A wider angle view of the photo above
Looking back across the lake towards Wetherlam, which looked brilliant with a dusting of fresh snow
A similar shot, but this time with both Wetherlam and the Old Man of Coniston
Zooming in on Wetherlam
Wetherlam from what remains of the Iron Keld plantation, it was harvested a couple of years ago
The Crinkle Crags and Bow Fell from the walk over to the summit of Black Fell
Ambleside and the head of Windermere from the SE cairn on Black Fell
Looking across to the Old Man of Coniston from my coffee stop at the SE cairn of Black Fell
Fairfield (right) and Helvellyn (left) from the same spot
Bow Fell seen as I descended from the summit of Black Fell
