We were staying at The Royal Oak Hotel in Rosthwaite for a long weekend before I flew out to Nepal for my Everest Base Camp trek. It had rained really heavy all day on the Thursday, we had delayed driving over, the weather was so bad. When we eventually arrived at the hotel, just before 3pm, the weather was showing signs of improving a little. So we decided to give Tim a walk along the river before dinner. The river was really full after the heavy rain, and there was loads of water standing on the paths, even Tim started trying to find some dry spots before the end of the walk!

The sun started to break through in places, but there was still plenty of grey clouds over Honister Pass

The rain still hadn't finished for the day and we had plenty of showers
