The route map from our walk
A very 'spring' like scene as we left Seatoller village
The camp site looked almost full as we walked along the road towards Seathwaite farm
Our route would take us up Grains Gill, the valley to the left of Seathwaite Fell and we would come back down past the trees on the right
Zooming in on Taylorgill Force
Stockley Bridge, which we crossed twice on the walk!
Looking up Grains Gill at the towering crags of Great End
Looking back down Borrowdale, Skiddaw can just be seen in the far distance
Tim was really happy to be back out in the mountains again
Another view down the valley from higher up the gill, Skiddaw is more visible now
The crags of Great End from the top of Ruddy Gill
Looking back down the valley again from the top of Ruddy Gill, Derwent Water is also visible now
Great End
Looking back towards a cloud covered Great Gable as we walked towards Esk Hause
Esk Pike, our target for today, from Esk Hause
Looking across towards Sca Fell Pike, as we climbed towards Esk Pike, Ill Crag is just coming out of the cloud
Looking down into Esk Dale
Looking back at the 'easier' side of Great End
Sheena and Tim on the summit of Esk Pike. Even though it was a very busy bank holiday weekend we still had the place to ourselves
The 'Sca Fells' from Esk Pike
Great End and Sprinkling Tarn from the descent from Esk Pike
Allen Crags and Glaramara, with Skiddaw in the far distance
Back down to the top of Ruddy Gill again
Sprinkling Tarn, we sat and had our lunch on the large boulder on the right of this photo
Glaramara from Sprinkling Tarn
Great Gable from Sprinkling Tarn
As we dropped down from Sprinkling Tarn, Sty Head Tarn comes into view
Lingmell (right) with the huge chasm of Piers Gill and Sca Fell Pike on the left
Great Gable from Sty Head, this was third time lucky this year, on our last two visits we had thick mist and no views
Looking down on Sty Head Tarn
The view back from Sty Head Tarn towards Sca Fell Pike, it was a very popular spot today
'Dog Posing in Stream'
Looking down into Borrowdale as we descend from Sty Head
A similar view but this one from the trees
Looking back along the road towards the farm from Seathwaite Bridge
