The route map from our walk
Muker village from the car park
The Farmers Arms in Muker village, where we would have refreshments after the walk!
Looking back down Swaledale across the meadows as we climbed up onto Kisdon
Looking back down onto Muker village from the steep road that we followed to join the Pennine Way
A view of Usha Gap, in the valley bottom, and a distant Great Shunner Fell, with the road to Hawes over its flanks
Look I'm not that fat, I've gotten through this stile ok!
Looking down onto the valley below from high on the slopes of Kisdon
Following the Pennine Way to Keld high on the side of Kisdon
Another view down into the valley below, our return route can be clearly seen along side the river
Looking across the valley to Swinner Gill
Sheena and Tim on the Pennine Way
The north facing slopes of Kidson were covered with masses of primroses
Looking across the valley at the remains of the old farm of Crackpot Hall
Sheena and Tim heading towards Keld
Crossing the River Swale below the village of Keld
Don't think Tim was that impressed at me taking a photo of him????
Waterfall in East Stonesdale Beck, where the Pennine Way meets the C2C path
Looking back at Keld village as we walked along the C2C path towards Swinner Gill
Another view from the same spot, but this one is looking cross the hamlet of Angram towards the distant Great Shunner Fell
The woods were still full of blue bells
Probably the best view in the Yorkshire Dales, the Swale Gorge from near to Crackpot Hall
The small waterfall at the bottom of Swinner Gill, where we had our coffee stop
A slightly different view of the same waterfall
Looking back along the river towards Keld as we turned south and headed back to Muker
Rampsholme Bridge where we crossed back over the river to reach Muker
The highlight of the walk, the stunning wild flowers in the meadows
Tim seemed to be enjoying the meadows, but I don't think it was for the flowers!
The Red Clover was the best I've ever seen, the flower heads were huge
Sheena enjoyed the meadows just as much as me and Tim, as well!
Looking back along the flagged path across the meadows
Every field we passed through was just bursting full of wild flowers
One last look back over the meadows before we reached the village again
Refreshments at The Farmers Arms after yet another lovely walk ....
