This is a collection of photograph's from the week leading up to Christmas Day. The weather had been really unusual in the fact that we've had snow lying on the ground in the village for the last several days. Now that's not very common, it's probably at least 10 years since the last occurrence. I'd spent most of the week tucked up nice and warm in bed with my bad neck/back and the complications that have been caused by the pain killers. However, the doctor wants me to keep as mobile as possible, easier said than done mind you! So I'd managed to drag myself out of the warm bed, to give Tim a walk along the river at home, at least once a day.
We had some really nice sun rises, the beauty at this time of the year is that they don't happen till around 8 am, very civilized!
There are some lovely colours in the sky at this time of day
They change really quickly though so you can't hang about if you want to take photo's
Winter sun rise reflections on the river
The early morning winter sun casting it's golden glow across the snowy fields
One thing there was a lack of during the week was nice sun set's, this was the best one I managed!
This was a lovely afternoon, after the freezing fog had cleared away
Everything was coated in a fine hoar frost, making a like a winter wonderalnd!
Looking along the River Tees behind the village church
Our local village church of St Edwin's, from the river bank
Looking back towards the village from a little further down stream
The hoar frost on the tree's and plants made them look beautiful
This is a close up of some old Cow Parsley, you can see the delicate strands of the ice, they looked like giant snowflakes?
On Christmas Eve we got a huge dump of snow
It made St Edwin's look very festive
Winter reflections on the still river
It was like walking through a winter wonderland, along the river
It didn't matter how cold or frosty it was, Tim still had his daily swim in the river, he's barking mad if you ask me!
He just loved running in the snow
Me with a chilled out Tim!
and him with Sheena
This is my all time favourite photo of him, the early morning light was just right
