For anyone visiting the 'Teesdale' area a visit to see these waterfalls is a must. Even if you only have an hour to spare you can easily visit both Low Force and High Force, although if you park at the High Force Hotel, a little further up the road from where we started you will have to pay for the pleasure. We visit the falls several times a year and each time it is different, as there's never seems to be the same amount of water coming over the falls. On this visit I took along the tripod and a few filters to try and capture the beauty of the falls. It turned out to be a bit of an expensive day though as while I was taking the photos up a Bleabeck Force I managed to break one of the filters. Oh well that will learn me to leave them on the camera when I'm walking about! Sheena is always telling me to put them in their protective cases, don't you just hate know it alls!!!! 8-)
I just love this first set of waterfalls, which you pass on the way to Summerhill Force
Wellies are essential when taking photo's like the one above!
A close up of the falls
The last of the autumn colours were just about hanging on in the woods
Looking along Bowlees Beck towards Summerhill Force
I was really pleased with this shot of Summerhill Force
The master at work! LOL ...
Summerhill Force again
And again, Gibson's Cave is the dark area on the right of the photo
Low Force, there's a fair amount of water coming over the falls today
Low Force from the Wynch Bridge
And again
A slightly different angle on the upper falls
High Force, the water coming down on the right of the falls only happens when the river levels are high
Waterfalls in England don't come much better than this
A wider angle view of High Force
Bleabeck Force, is about a 10 minute walk upstream from High Force
Its well worth the visit when the river levels are as high as today
