We started today's walk from the car park at The High Force Hotel rather than our normal parking spot at Bowlees
Looking down river as we crossed the foot bridge to reach the Pennine Way path on the other side of the river
One of the many small rapids that can be found on this stretch of the river, the dead tree has been there for a few years now, probably washed down river in a previous flood
The riverside meadows were full of wild flowers, not quite as good as those at Muker the day before, but still lovely
Sheena checking out the new gates that have just been installed along the path to replace the stiles
One field we walked past was covered in Common Spotted Orchids
A close up of the Common Spotted Orchids
We also saw some Early Purple Orchids
Some of the new footpath repairs that have been carried out along the Pennine Way
The upper falls at Low Force
The middle set, and largest set
A view of Low Force from the Wynch Bridge
Another view of the middle falls with the upper falls behind
Tim with two new friends!
More wild flower meadows
Back to the footbridge we crossed earlier, time to pay a visit to High Force
High Force, I think this is the better view of the falls
There wasn't as much water coming over the falls as I'd have expected from the rain over the weekend
A close up view of of High Force
One last look at High Force before we headed back to the car
Me and my shadow ......
This young rabbit thought if it sat still we wouldn't see it, good job Tim was on his lead!
Heading back down the steps to cross the footbridge and back through the woods to the car park
Sun set reflections ....
The sun was sinking down behind the trees as we walked back to the car
