Muker village from the car park
The first part of the walk involves walking along a 'paved' path across several meadow's to reach the river
The first view of the river
Looking back across the river to the meadow's we had just walked through, on the left of the picture is Rampsholme Bridge, which we crossed to follow the track on the northern side of the river
Walking along the valley, the hill in the distance is Rogan's Seat
Where Swinner Gill joins the river turns almost due West towards Keld
Swinner Gill, you can scramble along the river bed to reach the 'Kirk' in the cave at the head of the gill (best done in dry conditions!)
Tim looking for stones in the bottom of the gill
Waterfalls in Swinner Gill (I must have photographed these falls hundreds of times over the last couple of decades!)
Looking back along the river valley from near to Crackpot Hall
I'm not sure how this old tractor got in this state, but its been there as long as I can remember
The river valley narrows a lot as you get near Keld
Approaching the village of Keld, the last one in the valley
Looking up the river as we crossed the bridge at East Stonesdale
Some small fall's where East Gill meets the Swale
As we started to walk back down the river to Muker, the whole hillside was covered in these!
A nice clean Tim!
